Grooming & Hygiene

Daily Cleaning

  • Brush fur – Regular brushing helps reduce shedding, prevents tangles, and keeps your cat’s coat shiny.
  • Scoop cat litter – Cleaning the litter box daily prevents odors and encourages your cat to use it consistently.
  • Wipe tear stains – Especially important for flat-faced breeds; use a damp cloth or pet wipes to keep eyes clean.
  • Wash & clean food bowls – Washing bowls every day prevents bacteria buildup and keeps mealtime safe and hygienic.

Weekly Cleaning

  • Clean chin – Wipe gently to prevent dirt or oil buildup that can cause feline acne.
  • Clean paw pads – Check for dirt, litter, or small debris that can get stuck between the toes.
  • Clean ears – Use pet-safe ear cleaner and cotton pads; avoid deep cleaning inside the ear canal.
  • Brush teeth – Helps prevent tartar buildup and bad breath; start young so your cat gets used to it.
  • Trim nails – Regular trimming keeps claws healthy and prevents scratches on you and your furniture.

Coat Care

Brush your cat once a week if they are short-haired, and daily if they are long-haired. This reduces shedding, prevents tangles or mats, and also helps distribute natural oils through the coat, keeping it soft and healthy.

Bathing

Cats usually don’t need frequent baths, but giving one every 2–3 months helps keep them fresh, especially if they’re long-haired or prone to oil buildup. Always use lukewarm water (around 39°C) and dry them thoroughly afterward to avoid fungus and skin problems.

Ear & Eye cleaning

  • Ears: Check your cat’s ears weekly for dirt, wax, or signs of infection (redness, odor). If dirty, use a pet-safe ear cleaner and cotton pad to wipe the outer ear—never insert anything deep inside.
  • Eyes: If you notice discharge or tear stains, gently wipe around the eyes with a damp tissue or pet-safe wipes. For breeds prone to watery eyes, daily wiping helps keep the face clean and comfortable.

Nail Trimming

We recommend trimming your cat’s nails once a month using cat-specific clippers. This helps prevent overgrown claws, scratches, and potential paw injuries. Hold your cat gently and keep them calm throughout the process. Trim only the sharp tip and avoid the pink area (quick) to prevent pain or bleeding.
