Frequently Asked Question

  • Flu: Feline flu causes sneezing, a runny nose, and tiredness. It usually gets better in 1-2 weeks with care. Contact Domoz House if it doesn’t improve or gets worse.
  • Fungal Infections: These can cause circular patches of hair loss and itching, requiring antifungal treatment for 1-3 weeks. Isolate your cat and contact Domoz House for assistance if you suspect an infection.

Possible Treatments for Fungal Infections:

  1. External Care: Apply an appropriate ointment to affected areas 2-3 times daily to keep the skin healthy.
  2. Internal Care: Give half a vitamin B tablet daily until the coat is healthy, then switch to once a month.
  • Ear Mites: Ear mites cause itching, shaking of the head, and dark, waxy discharge from the ears. Don’t Worry! Ear mites are common and treatable. Gently clean your cat’s ears using a cotton bud and apply ear drops specifically made for cats

Cats may refuse food and water on the first day after rehoming due to stress or changes in diet. Please give them space. They will eat when you’re not around. Let them explore their new environment and avoid interacting too much.

If your cat doesn’t eat or drink for more than 2 days, please contact Domoz House for advice.

In the first week, let your cat explore and adjust to their new environment. Forcing interactions can cause stress and lead to problems.

Soft stools in new cats are common due to stress or a change in diet, like a new brand of kibbles. If they’re eating and drinking normally, there’s no need to worry. It’s best stick to kibble only for the first week and avoid wet food (goat milk, supplements, canned food, snacks, etc.) for the first two days after rehoming.

  1. If soft stools last more than 2-3 days, try probiotics.
  2. If diarrhea lasting over 24 hours, ensure hydration and contact Domoz House.
